Ages 3–5, 5–7, 8–13 · Twiggs Skate Park
Looking for Evanston skateboard lessons or skateboarding lessons for a first-timer? Twiggs Park's skate park opened in December 2023, replacing Evanston's original, smaller setup at the old Robert Crown Community Center. The new Twiggs location is a much larger facility, with a dedicated bowl, quarter pipes, rails, and ledges. Our Monday classes here are a newer addition, and it's quickly become a great option for families in Evanston and the surrounding North Shore.
We bring loaner skateboards — including foam practice boards for our youngest riders — so nobody needs to own gear before their first class. Groups are kept small and split by ability, not just age, so beginners and more experienced skaters both get real coaching time.
This is an official Evanston program. Each session below registers directly through the district's own site.

The same gentle, confidence-first approach as our summer intro class — balance, standing on the board, pushing, and simple first tricks, with hands-on help riding small ramps. Skateboards are provided, so there's nothing extra to buy before the first class.
