Official Park District Program

Palatine Skateboarding Lessons

Ages 3–5, 5–7, 8–13 · Riemer Reservoir Park / Palatine Prairie Skatepark

What to Know

Palatine Prairie's bowl is one of the larger layouts in the northwest suburbs, which gives beginner and intermediate groups room to work separately instead of crowding one ramp. We've run Tuesday evening classes here since the program's early seasons, and it's one of our most-requested locations for families coming from Inverness and Rolling Meadows too.

We bring loaner skateboards — including foam practice boards for our youngest riders — so nobody needs to own gear before their first class. Groups are kept small and split by ability, not just age, so beginners and more experienced skaters both get real coaching time.

This is an official Palatine program. Each session below registers directly through the district's own site.

The October session runs one hour (5:15–6:15pm) instead of 90 minutes, since the sun sets earlier later in the season — pricing reflects the shorter class time.
